Following several European festivals, Obituary have just completed a US tour with Napalm Death and Dead To Fall. Watch the video for new track ‘Insane Click Here for Video
Reunited in 2004 after a 7-year hiatus, the band released their 6th studio album ‘Frozen In Time’ in July. One listen to the band's new album, and it's clear that Obituary have returned with the same force and fortitude they had in the early '90s. "On the Floor" opens with an incisive, churning riff, thunderous beats and bloodcurdling vocals before shifting into a chugging, bone-splintering breakdown, "Blindsided" rides a gradually ascending hate groove to a destination just south of Hell, and "Back Inside" fuses colossal crunch with pummeling double-bass drumming to create a deadly mosh pit firestorm. "When I sit and listen to it, I hear some songs that sound like they might have come off of our ‘Slowly We Rot’ record and others that sound like they might have come off of ‘World Demise’," vocalist John Tardy says. "Then there are others that are unique to us and different than what we've done in the past. So it's really well rounded, and at the same time, it's the heaviest thing we've ever done."

/// BLOODSTOCK KERRANG REVIEW ///
Season's End recently received a fantastic review in Kerrang, even out-rating
the headliners on the main stage:
"Day two and with scores of hangover victims getting right back on their horses
and medicating themselves with hair of the dog, it's not exactly the ideal
setting for Hampshire goth metallers Season's End to be stealing the show with a
jaw-dropping display of beautiful, elegant dark hymns. But that's just what they
do, and by God do they do it well..."

There are precious few British metal bands that could count a stunning
performance at the legendary Donington Park, video of the week in Kerrang
magazine and a live session at London's famed Maida Vale Studios by invite of
BBC Radio One as mere notches on the proverbial bedpost. Truth be told, most
bands would probably view such achievements as career pinnacles, but for
Brighton's JOHNNY TRUANT its all in a months work.

Latest review
The Empires of the worlds has taken some amazing reviews so far,
The band would like to thank everybody who supported Biomechanical at this time!!
This latest review comes from the Metal Judgment website:
Reviewed by Trollhammer (8/24/05):
WELL THEN! I was NOT expecting what I heard when I put in Biomechanical's debut release The Empires of the Worlds. 99 tracks of pure metal mayhem. Well, to be precise it's really more like 14, but my promo copy is DEFINITELY a rockin' 99!! Earache certainly did well signing these bloody Brits. I really had no idea what to think when I heard it. I suppose the EASY way out of describing it is to say Fear Factory meets Judas Priest, with some technicality here and there.
The guitars are tight as NUTS. Their crushing sound certainly helps too. And the band includes enough orchestral and synth arrangements to give them the whole newer Dimmu Borgir vibe here and there, except they clearly didn't employ a 55-piece orchestra from Prague. The choruses usually employ soaring Halford-esque vocals with lush synth parts to layer it further. And the verses he seems to like to do a Phil Anselmo type thing, except that he doesn't suck at vocals. HUGELY versatile guy on throat duties, hugely creative.
And like Judas Priest, their twin guitar solos are absolutely RIPPING. Squeaky clean and extremely aggressive, the guitarists are those kinds of players that as soon as you hear them, you immediately hate them. Especially if you are also a guitar player. Unbelievable (assholes)! Their guitar sounds consist of a Pantera-ish tone (circa 90-94). They are definitely one of those bands that don't need to tune WAY the hell down to M to sound great. The drumming is fanatical, reminiscent of Ray Herrera with a dash of Hoglan. VERY fast and aggressive. Especially on tracks like "Assaulter" which make you throw the horns immediately.
I really can't go into depth about this band until hearing this album about 400 more times. There's SO much to hear on it. I've heard it about three times, and I feel as if I'm just getting more overwhelmed with STUFF. They cover just about all the bases that make a great metal band GREAT. Here's a great way to decide if you should buy this album. Answer the following questions with a YES or a NO.
Do you like Pantera?
Do you like Fear Factory?
Do you like Judas Priest?
Do you like to have your face sucked in because the metalness is so overwhelming that it actually creates an intense electromagnetic wave that has an anti-gravitational effect on JUST your face?
Do you like METAL?!?!
If you answered YES to at least 3 of the 5 above questions, you MUST OWN THIS ALBUM.
If you answered YES to only 2 of the 5 above questions, you STILL NEED THIS ALBUM! If you answered YES to only 1 of the above questions, you shouldn't even be browsing this site or any of the reviews so go listen to your fucking Eminem albums that only YOU know you have cuz you're too much of a pussy to admit it to your friends, and you should probably have this album too even though you’re not tr00 enough to even own any metal albums.
If you answered YES to NONE of the above questions, you need to die, and THEN go out and buy this album as a zombie, if for nothing else then to save some face for the afterlife in Valhalla.
Five fucking skulls, and two pairs of horns repeatedly banging. Oh and by the way, their site is probably the coolest website in the history of websites.

Music Australia Guide:
"From the land where Heavy Metal was first spawned, comes Biomechanical - a raging technically infused beast that will soon turn the scene on its head. With an EP and a debut titled Eight Moons, under their belts, The Empires Of The Worlds mixes the likes of Judas Priest, Pantera, Nevermore, Bal Sagoth and Metallica into a unique cacophony of sound that is both unnerving and enthralling. Underpinning the release is a theatrical score that heightens the tension – making The Empires Of The Worlds an orchestrated adventure and a body of work that stands alone in its own right. If you’ve been waiting for a technical Progressive Thrash Metal band that can seamlessly combine the extreme with melodic, then Biomechanical is the band for you."
From StygianSounds.com
The first word that springs to mind upon listening to this band is simply
'Original'. Trying to define this band in terms of a genre is pretty well
impossible. I think it's for that reason that the debut was thrown into the
realm of progressive. It certainly is different.
The Empires Of The Worlds picks up where the debut left off, but even
heavier than the last release. To imagine Biomechanical's music try to
picture Pantera heaviness and vocals but with a high end that ranges into
the realms of Halford. Then add a shitload of time changes and weird backing
synths. Not since Nevermore do I think I've heard a brand of music that is as
utterly recognizable as a band's own. Heavy, technical, and sometimes
straight out thrashing this is just an awesome ride. There's a ton of cross-
genre appeal here and if you like heavy music that's constantly shifting and
never loses interest... then this is for you.
Highlights: Existenz, Enemy Within, The Empire Of Worlds, Regenerated

From The Metal Forge
Ruling the empires
Very, very few bands have the ability to meld together the old school and the new school in a way that results in a hybrid of all of the best elements of both. Imagine taking the best elements of Judas Priest, Pantera, Nevermore and Queensryche and mix them all together with a film score. Old school riffs, over the top guitar riffs and leads, insane thumping drums and vocals that wail and bark The Empires Of The Worlds has it all.

The Moirai - Canadian Tour Cancelled -- Posted by rock3 on Thursday, September 1 2005
The powerful new CD by The Moirai, entitled "Bury Yourself," is NOW AVAILABLE at
the online label store before it hits stores later this September!
The Moirai is ex-members of Penfold and is definately for fans of: Muse, Sunny
Day Real Estate, Christie Front Drive, The Fire Theft, The Gloria Record,
Slowdive, Antarctica, Elliott, Appleseed Cast, Explosions In The Sky, Benton
Falls, Mineral, Pop Unknown, etc.
Tracklist: 1:Crucifixion as an Art Form; 2:Water is the New Fire; 3:A Terrible
Secret; 4:Last Year For Halloween I Was A Ghost; 5:Dear Alison, I Am Not a
Cynic; 6:Bury Yourself; 7:Singing Nonsense On the Streets of Rome; 8:Empathy for
Your Enemy/Hostile to the Helpless
OVERVIEW: Control. The ebb and flow of music can sometimes get lost without it.
It is a breath of fresh air when a band comes along and masterfully creates not
just a batch of songs, but a body of music with such control, the listener has a
hard time absorbing it in pieces. The Moirai, from northern, NJ, have done just
that with their long-player EP entitled “Bury Yourself.” We call it a “
long-player EP” as it has 8 dynamic tracks, spanning 40-minutes of music both
cohesive in tonality and structure, ebbing and flowing, one song into the next.
Musically, they will convince you there are many options at listening to music,
yet they primarily focus on the listener retaining patience. Music you can
expand ideas upon and discuss intellectually, as well as drift effortlessly to,
and let rest steadily in the back of your subconscience. The Moirai's music can
best be described as a monologue. Each one of us, from the strongest to the
meekest, has a quiet, internal voice, and with a whisper, it can erode our
self-certainty. It speaks in contradictions, intimating that our ideas about
ourselves could be wrong. Yet we listen to it. That voice is our collective
weakness. But it also makes us human. We respond to it with rage, fear, sadness,
depression, love, exhilaration, compassion, and resolve. The Moirai catches us
in those contradictions; their songs are snapshots of real people coming to
terms with insecurity, tragedy, and extraordinary circumstances. The music is
dark, cathartic, sonic, melodic and dynamic. So open your ears to the music of
The Moirai, for these 4 gentleman are on the road to making a distinct first
impression. Their live show entrances on musicality alone, only responding
greater and greater to the energy in the room. With a band featuring former
members of Penfold and December Aeternalis, they will turn some jaded heads
their way, but the lasting memories will all be in favor of The Moirai. •
Features 3/4 members of the defunct, yet highly sought after Penfold, and the
low end of the crushing December Aeternalis.
