Septembre - AT THE TMF FESTIVAL -- Posted by rock3 on Wednesday, July 27 2005
TMF
official :: “With 7 stages, a license for 10,000, over 101 artists and 12 hours of cutting-edge music, you need to be at the Orsett Showground, Essex on Saturday 6 August 2005.
TMF is unlike certain other festivals; we don't believe in booking bands based on their album sales – we believe in booking bands on quality alone. We don’t believe in releasing tickets before lineups are announced and we don’t believe in booking the same old headline acts – guaranteed to sell out but guaranteeing the same, tired performance.
The point of TMF is to showcase some of the finest music the UK has to offer – “the bands and DJs truly making noise in the UK”. That means we book rising artists and underground acts, and we put them on the same pedestal as the larger, established bands that headline the event.
Date: Saturday August 6 2005
Venue: Orsett Showground, Orsett Village, Essex (off A13/M25)
Tickets: Priced at just £10.00 + b/f in advance / £16.00 on day
To/From: 11.30am - 11.30pm
Features: 7 live stages, acoustic tent, dance arenas, street-poetry, contemporary art, fair, food concessions, 2 licenced bars and over 100 of the hottest bands and DJ’s the UK has to offer.”
septembre :: We still have a few tickets left. They are available from us.
Priced:: only £10.50 ea. including recorded delivery. Payable by either personal cheque or PayPal.
why pay £16 each on the day when you can save yourself a few quid, guarantee your entry and have your ticket(s) delivered in advance to your door?
there is still time to pay by cheque, pass clearance and have your ticket delivered next day to your door. Easy.

Stiff Kittens -- Posted by rock3 on Friday, July 15 2005
STIFF KITTENS: A unique band comprising of five feral members. The drug of choice for those with a penchant for rock in it’s purest most unadulterated form. Subjects exposed to their sound have been observed to display prolonged erratic, flailing behaviour finally, and perhaps even mercifully, ending in an apparent state of catatonic ecstasy.
The Stiff Kittens were born of humble beginnings with two friends from Blackwood South Wales, kicking about with many varied flavours of musicians, until finally arriving at the current line up. Which consists of:
• Matt Shirley – Lead Vocal
• Dirty Frank – Lead Guitar & B. Vox
• Steve Price – Guitar & B. Vox
• Rob Tucker – Bass & B. Vox
• Gez Thomas – Drums & Percussion
Following a tradition of working and gigging hard and with a well worn path of highs and lows, the band eventually got some of the breaks they deserved. Some of these include:-
• Sell-Out Mini tour of NYC taking in the Legendary CBGB’s;
• Performed as warm up act for Feeder, as part of the Ross-on-Wye International Music Festival;
• Had the legendary Dave Sharp [The Alarm] open for them before supporting All About Eve at the Oxford Zodiac;
• Supporting US Rockers Love/Hate at Cardiff’s MS1 club;
• Supporting Thin Lizzy as part of their UK tour;
• Whilst on an opportunistic photo shoot Stiff Kittens became the last band ever to play Wembley Stadium, followed by a triumphant show at the Borderline London;
• TV spots include: Gen:X (Extreme Sports Channel), Heno, MTV2;
• Worked with several world renowned producers:- Steve Brown (Cult, Manics) & John Ravenhall (Sting, Elton John);
These events have resulted in a new four track EP “Ramblings of a Madman” which is out now, with an album to follow in the early Autumn. Which has produced this kind of response from certain key industry players:-
“They can and they will” – Steve “Sanctuary” Brown
“Big sexy guitars like guitars should sound” – Jase Burns @ Power FM
“They are good, very good, expect to be hearing much more of them on TotalRock soon!” – Malcolm Dome @ TotalRock FM
“You have a Stadium Ready Band” – John Porter @ Red Distribution USA
“We were blown away by the artistic ability of this band” – Z-Warp Hard Rock Radio USA
MATATABI: A plant comprising of tender leaves which produces compounds similar to Nepatalactones. The drug of choice for Japanese Cats who, after chewing it’s leaves, ‘stretch out on their backs with their paws up and remain motionless in this position for some time, in apparent or perhaps real ecstasy’.

Charger frontman Martin Ives Goes Bananas -- Posted by rock3 on Monday, July 4 2005
CHARGER FRONTMAN GOES BANANAS!
Charger frontman Martin Ives will be taking a break from the writing of
'Contemptus Mundi', the follow-up to their well received debut album
'Confessions Of A Man Mad Enough To Live Among Beasts' to enter The Great
Gorilla Run which takes place on the 25th September 2005.
The Great Gorilla Run is a fun run for the Dian Fossey Foundation, which is a
charitable organisation that helps the preservation of the almost extinct
mountain gorillas in Central Africa. Entrants will run around a 7km course in
full gorilla costume, which takes in a number of famous London landmarks.
Ives commented, "It should be an interesting day out with added simian japes.
Anyone who wishes to come down and show their support, should look out for a
limping, wheezing gorilla with a punk shirt on, and a cigarette in its' mouth
with all the other stragglers."
