The band have also announced a major UK tour which kicks off in May and includes two nights at Brixton Academy.

Add to that their most famous fan to date, rapper and label boss Jay-Z, who even took his girlfriend Beyonce to a New York show last year and after witnessing the crowd’s frenzied adoration of the band claimed it was “like a cult”!
On March 13th Mercury Records will be releasing a new version of the album ‘From Under The Cork Tree” with 5 new tracks. The new edition will recap all 13 songs from the original album (plus five additional tracks, starting with the three previously non-album single B-sides “Snitches and Talkers Gets Stitches and Walkers,” “The Music Or The Misery,” and “My Heart Is The Worst Kind Of Weapon.” There will also be two exclusive remixes, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down (Patrick Stump Remix)” and “Dance, Dance (Lindbergh Palace Remix).” The new edition will also feature a newly-designed album cover.

The Voom Blooms - Tour news and single release -- Posted by rock3 on Tuesday, March 14 2006
The VOOM BLOOMS Debut Single + Club NME Tour
46p Corned Beef Accident Wins Them Management + Record Deal
'Politics & Cigarettes' out 20th March
The VOOM BLOOMS release their debut single 'Politics & Cigarettes' on 2Oth March through Fiction/ Polydor ( review ). This will be preceded by their lengthy headline Club NME tour and 2 dates with Boy Kill Boy.
The VOOM BLOOMS were formed in Spring 2005 in Loughborough and quickly became one of the big successes on My Space last year as well as having their demo 'London Heads' played on Lamacq. Their big enigmatic songs captivated a full house at In The City.
A date with The Paddingtons and an accident with a tin of corned beef had some unexpected spin-offs. As George from the band explains:
"The night before the Paddingtons gig Craig was feeling hungry and reached for his usual dose of 46p corned beef. When opening the tin he sliced the top of his finger open. The next day, needing stitches and treatment but knowing he would be forced out of action if he went to hospital, he made himself a bandage out of kitchen paper and ducktape, jumped in the van and made his way up to Northampton. He knew that as soon as he played one note his finger could open up, but nonetheless he stumbled onto the stage infront of a packed Roadmenders. As the opening chords to 'Lovers' rang out his finger, as predicted, burst open, covering his white Strat guitar, jeans, amp and the crowd in blood. But being the trooper he is, he played on and we delivered one of their most breathtaking shows. To this day his guitar still bears the scars."
Watching in the crowd the Paddingtons manager was blown away by their songs and their attitude (particularly Craig's) and by the end of the night he was their manager too. Unsurprising Craig formed a bond with Marv, The Paddingtons guitarist who had severed the tendons in his hand earlier that year.
The VOOM BLOOMS play:
1st Mar Leeds The Warehouse (CLUB NME)
4th Mar Glasgow Arts School, (CLUB NME)
6th Mar Sheffield Pug (CLUB NME)

Canadian Seal Slaughter -- Posted by rock3 on Sunday, March 12 2006
The shameful Canadian commercial seal hunt is shortly to begin on the ice flows off the east coast of Canada. This inevitably means the senseless slaughter of thousand's of innocent baby seals ( nearly one million in the past three years)! l won't go into the gory details of how these poor and defenceless animals are brutally killed, but l do ask you to voice your abhorrance at this annual wicked and insane massacre. Britain still imports in some seal products, we want a total ban! Further information is available from "Respect for Animals", if you would like to help please contact us. The slaughter is soon to be underway, please join us. There will be vigils held all over the country for the baby seals on March the 25th, if you would like to hold a vigil where you live please let us know when and where, together we can stop this maddness! For more info contact....sandrabarker1@btinternet.com, or check out www.boycott-canada.com Sandra Barker can be reached on 01773 823788
Love Music Hate Racism carnivals -- Posted by rock3 on Sunday, March 12 2006
In London - FREE Love Music Hate Racism Carnival in Trafalgar Square, on Saturday 29th April. Top artists & speakers from 2-8pm, including Boy Kill Boy, Roll Deep, The Mentalists & Poly Styrene with headliners TBA in the next few days.
From noon-2pm there will be performances, displays and open mic sessions in the square and on the stage, by youth organisations, and dance, music and theatre schools and groups.
There will be an anti-racism carnival procession from the South Bank to Trafalgar Square.
Groups, schools, colleges and individuals who wish to take part should contact the LMHR office immediately to secure your place. We need the biggest possible show of unity against racism and fascism from all the people of London and beyond!
In Leeds, there will be an all-day indoor LMHR Festival at Leeds University on Sunday 23rd April.
In Manchester, there will be a similar event at the city's 2,000-capacity Academy venue on Monday 1st May (date TBC).
In both Leeds and Manchester, there will be a great diverse line-up of top acts performing, but we particularly welcome participation from local youth and school groups - so get in touch to take part.
We are a partner and co-organiser of the UK tour by brilliant radical US rappers Dead Prez, in late April/early May. Support includes Sway, Blak Twang and DJs like Fabio and Grooverider. The tour takes in Leeds, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester and London.
Contact us if you'd like to help.
There are other LMHR events planned for Wakefield, Stoke-on-Trent, Grays/Thurrock, Newcastle, Bradford, Halifax, Dudley, Brighton, Plymouth, Yeovil, Shrewsbury, and to name but a few.
There are now local LMHR groups forming around the country - and there's lots of ways you can get involved.
Check the new LMHR website - www.lovemusichateracism.com for more information, or email us to contact your local group. If there's not a group or an event taking place in your area - why not organise your own LMHR gig or rave?
We will also next week announce the launch of < strong>LMHR's work in schools and colleges, being done in association with the NASUWT teaching union. Many young people want to get involved in fighting racism and already there are a number of LMHR gigs happening in schools and colleges.
If you study, work or have kids at a school or college please get in touch - we can arrange for well-known LMHR-supporting music acts and speakers to come to your school or college to talk to students about racism and how we can stop it. There has also been made a special 15-minute version of Alan Miles' great LMHR/Rock Against Racism documentary "Who Shot the Sheriff?", specially aimed at younger people.
The UAF/LMHR Conference 3 weeks ago attracted 700 people and was a massive success - see the new website for reports and photos.
Finally, please see below for an appeal from our sister campaign Unite Against Fascism calling on everyone who hasn't already to register to vote to help stop the BNP in May 4th's local council elections.

Will Haven and The Abominable Iron Sloth -- Posted by rock3 on Friday, March 10 2006
Three of the five members of Sacramento bruisers The Abominable Iron Sloth are
heading this way in their other incarnation Will Haven.
The Abominable Iron
Sloth trio are hitting these shores on Sunday to begin their Will Haven UK tour
Formed two years ago as a duo of Justin Godfrey and Cayle Hunter (guitarist with
Ghostride/ Will Haven), when Mitch, Mike and Jeff, also from Will Haven, heard
the creation, they decided getting involved with the project was the only thing
they could do!
Combining crushing grooves with pummelling down-tuned, low-strung riffs and a
vitriolic vocal attack, it is unique in the fact that most sludge metal tends to
drag its heels; this record is a far punchier affair!
Meanwhile the crew of Will Haven (aka: The Abominable Iron Sloth) are In the UK doing there 'Will Haven' Re-Union world tour:
12/03/2006 Nottingham Rock City
13/03/2006 Liverpool Uni

Sunday April 2nd show at the Robin2, Bilston,
Wolverhampton
Report:from the Band
For those that don't know (and from all the mail we've received about it over
the last few months, that can't be many!) the bands' headline show at last years
Saul Festival was filmed by a crack team of TV cameramen led by our good pal and
top BBC director, David Wheeler.
It's a 2-disk set, one with the full concert on it which looks fantastic with
stunningly high quality video and lightshow and superb 24-track digitally
recorded soundtrack.
Disk 2 features some cutting edge DVD design and includes a plethora of goodies,
with off-stage/campsite footage (including the traditional BH festival
chair-racing derby!), interviews with the band members, some live 'bootleg' vids
and more... much more :o)
Yup, we know it's been a while, so the band have been worthily ensconced in the
studio at BH Towers in the final throes of writing material for a new full
length CD Album.
Can't say too much at the moment, but the band are really excited about how it's
shaping up and the priviledged-few others who've heard the demos reckon it's the
bee'z.
As someone said on hearing some early clips...

The Paddingtons on the Thames -- Posted by rock3 on Sunday, March 5 2006
The Paddingtons to play exclusive secret boat party on the Thames on March 9th
Back in June of 1977, while the majority of the country were out celebrating the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, punk rock revolutionaries the Sex Pistols held their own celebration by blasting their alternative national anthem ‘God Save The Queen’ from a boat as they sailed down the Thames. Since this year marks the 30th Anniversary of the first explosion of punk rock across the UK, Hull’s most famous indie punk starlets The Paddingtons are following in the Sex Pistols footsteps by taking their rowdy punk to the Thames for an exclusive party on a boat, in association with Relentless energy drink. The secret location in London will also feature XFM DJ’s Eddie Temple-Morris and Iain Baker as well as Crossfire DJ’s Zac Slack and James Sherry.
Over the last two weeks, the guys at www.caughtinthecrossfire.com unleashed Rockit Launcher, an unbelievable opportunity to help one lucky unsigned band win the chance to support The Paddingtons at this exclusive boat party. The results of this can now be viewed at www.caughtinthecrossfire.com/relentless/ where you can vote from a choice of ten bands to decide the winning act that will play on the boat.
Bands will be measured on their relentless attitude, killer hooks and of course song quality leaving a public vote to determine who stands out in the pit. The chosen ones will then be decided by an industry panel made up of XFM DJs, Caught in the Crossfire bosses and assorted label A&R’s, so tell your friends about this as it’s gonna be another legendary night that goes off – for all the right reasons and hopefully not ending in any police arrests like the Sex Pistols boat trip!

It has been 3 years since seminal rock band Will Haven split. Their unique and

missed. And.. Now...They...ARE...BACK!!!

Mitch Wheeler and vocalist Grady Avenell, plus touring guitarist Cayle Hunter)
the band are heading over to our fair shores to begin their roadtrip, along with
sludgemeisters Crowbar, on March 12th.
The guys take in the following cities on the following dates.
12/03/2006 Nottingham Rock City
13/03/2006 Liverpool Uni
14/03/2006 Manchester Academy 2/3
15/03/2006 Glasgow King Tuts/Garage
16/03/2006 Newport Tj's
18/03/2006 London Mean Fiddler
19/03/2006 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
20/03/2006 Oxford Zodiac
21/03/2006 Colchester Arts Centre
Speaking about the reunion guitarist Jeff Irwin says:
"We always wanted to do another Will Haven record to see where we might go with
our music, I know we didn't want to do it without Grady though. So when Grady
called to say he wanted to write some new music we jumped at the chance. I
think we all have a burning for Will Haven, that was our baby and our proudest
moment. We still have the love for it and Grady does as well. Grady gave me a
call one day and we decided to go forward with creating some new music."
