Agankast appearing at BLOODSTOCK 2006 Derby Rooms -- Posted by rock3 on Saturday, December 17 2005
Reports of Agankast appearing at Bloodstock Open Air 2006 are not correct explains Allan Scott lead vocalist with Agankast. Agankast have in fact been booked to appear at Bloodstock 2006 at the famous Derby rooms....after negotiations with the organisers Agankast decided upon showcasing at the original Bloodstock which in 06 will be in its sixth year...the band felt that the opportunity to "get to the right people" would be greater at Bloodstock where bands such as Nightwish and Dragonforce first made their mark in Britain. We are also putting together material for our second Album which we hope will be available by april 06...New songs which will definetely make the new album are; Reign of Terror, Crematorium and Battle of Bannackburn. the album itself will be twin lead heaven assures Allan. finaly other festivals may be announced for Europe in the new year.. Agankast will of course keep fans posted via their official website www.Agankast.com and with latest news at the Rock3Radio website.

Love Music Hate Racism is bringing together a stunning showcase of the best of multicultural London for its end of year party. 2005 was a great year for loving music and hating racism: 40,000 came to Trafalgar Square on 1 May to see Pete Doherty, Estelle, Skitz & Rodney P, and more say, “Don’t Vote BNP”. Babyshambles and Kano rocked our Saturday night in the LeftField at Glastonbury. Hard-Fi, Roll Deep and The Beat smashed it at the Scala to launch a LMHR / Rock Against Racism film. And Ms Dynamite topped a Love Music Hate Racism bill to commemorate the life of Anthony Walker in Liverpool in October.
PLUS! In Manchester, THIS SUNDAY (11th Dec), legendary Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam heads a strong and diverse DJ & live line-up for our northern end-of-year bash.

Djevara News and Gigs in Cornwall -- Posted by rock3 on Thursday, December 1 2005
Ciao bella, friends!
Especially greetings to all our new-made
friends/cousins from the continent!
Well, you'll (hopefully) be glad to know we're safely
back from our European adventures (and I use that term
completely justifiably)! We had a fantastic time -
thanks for all your emails/messages of support/good
luck/encouragement! In fact, it was so good we've
already started making plans to get back out there as
much as possible again in 2006. That's not to say
we'll be abandoning the UK entirely, but it's become
clear from this tour that Europe is definitely the
future of Djevara...
BUT FIRST! I've just realised that we haven't properly
introduced our new member to The Mighty Djevara
Mailing List! Well, without further ado, but with
great pride and happiness, may I please introduce Cal,
who has been playing bass with us since October, with
a surprise debut for all those who were at the Virgin
Megastore gig (which was great fun!). The more
observant among you may have noticed that Cal also
plays guitar in a (wicked) band called Desert Monkey
from Colchester. Cal's been a fantastic addition to
the band, and I for one am over the moon to have him
on board. Not only did he do a fantastic job of
learning the entire album, but we've also been making
stupendous progress on the new material, and it's all
looking very exciting and fresh and new! (Of course,
clever wannabe journalists will still listen to about
five seconds and conclude we "sound exactly like Rage
Against The Machine", in the same way one of my aunts
probably thinks Prodigy sounds just like Offspring,
but hey, whatever!) :-)
GIGS!
Our first dates back in England are part of a
mini-tour in Cornwall this coming weekend, with
support from local metal heroes Amberlane
(www.amberlane.co.uk) - details on the website! But
our true homecoming is gonna be a whopper: Djevara
return to London to play a special Ruby Slippers
Records show with our good friends Miss Black America
at G-Lounge on Weds 14th December. This is gonna be
an AWESOME show - definitely come down if you can!
There's gonna be loads of free give-aways, awesome
music both live and from DJ sets, lots of festivities,
and MBA are a fantastic band well worth seeing! And
it's our first London show in
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages! But most
importantly, its in aid of cancer research, which is
something very important to me since dad died of
cancer a few years ago.
[Full details on all these shows are up on our
website!). So come on, let's make it a good night!
2006: THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT...
We've got LOADS of exciting stuff planned for 2006:
aside from more visits to various places in Europe,
Turkey and even possibly our first trips beyond (The
Americas? Japan? It's all possible!), we've got some
new material already recorded and being primed for
limited release early next year, and it's also about
time we started thinking about our second album...
And yes, before you ask, of course we'll be doing our
ridiculous jaunts across all the godforesaken (and
some very unforesaken and actually quite shapely)
parts of the country to visit y'all. Just 'cos we're
gluttens for punishment, and for some reason some of
you enjoy watching me scream my lungs out against a
wall of very loud noise (or maybe it's just morbid
fascination? Whatever, works for me!).
So the answer to the question "Has Bass lost any of
his childish energy and enthusiasm despite being
kicked in the teeth, backside and bollocks by
DjevaraLuck/Life at every available opportunity and
from every conceivable direction, and still sometimes
driving 2000km to play to one (enthusiastic) man and
his dog?" You betcha not! Until I actually "gain my
sanity" and decide to get a job in investment banking,
or lie bleeding the gutter of some motorway mid-tour,
bring it on! (Uh, yeah...)
BUT NOT EVERYONE IS WELL AT THE MOMENT...
You may wanna send a get-well card or too 'cos the
most important member of Djevara is actually very
unwell at the moment. Roxy is in intensive care... she
got better, then she got worse again... we're still
not sure if she'll make it. Vanessa, Claire and
Matilda have already sent their condolences - they say
recent gigs just haven't been the same without her (my
wallet agrees, though Sixt Hire Vehicles seem to be
happy).
Anyway, I better go and do something productive like
sleep or write tour diaries. I hope you're all well,
and look forward to seeing you in the not-too-distant
future, probably in a dark, smoky toilet venue in your
town. Wonderful.
Peace and shortcake, people, and rock and roll...
Bass
(Head Djev'Head)
X
PS I've just started booking our shows for 2006 (Feb
onwards)... if you've any ideas/suggestions or want to
book us, please get in touch now!
PPS Is it at all relevent that I've gone from fiercely
of the "smooth" persuasion to now a flag-waving member
of the "crunchy" sect? (I refer, of course, to peanut butter)
You can Hear Djevara on the Evening Sessions on the Rockbox Station and all day on the Alternative Rock Station.
